“My brother’s name is Davey Merchant he’s 26 years old, and his accident happened around the first of August. He’s currently at Craig Hospital in Colorado doing rehab and PT. He’s paralyzed from T-12 down but does have some movement in his thighs and can wiggle his toes a bit. Before the accident, Davey was a plumber and an avid outdoorsman. He’s definitely not the type to just sit around.”
Getting the word out about our foundation has taken some effort, but most of it has been by word-of-mouth. People interested in helping other people, people helping connect people when they’re in need, and that is what we had hoped for in the beginning. Just this week we were told about a young man from Southeast Kansas that was injured in an automobile accident. My wife reached out to a friend of ours who is a coach in Sedan, KS and it just so happened that he knew the kid. In fact, his brother was a former assistant coach at the same school.
We are in the process of reaching out to the young man and blessing him with a financial gift and to let him know that there are many people in his corner. Sometimes people need to know that there are others out there who see their struggle and are praying for them to make it through. If you feel like sending a card or letter or a gift directly to Davey, His address is: Craig Hospital, 3400 S. Acoma Street, Englewood, CO 80110. If you want to send a gift to our foundation that will be used for his benefit, please do that as well.

This is part of the message we received from Davey’s brother.
“We really appreciate you reaching out. It’s awesome to see the support from people even those we don’t personally know. If you have any other questions or need more info, please feel free to reach out anytime.”
Thanks again,
Jarot Blakemore
